At Animal House Veterinary Clinic our Nashville veterinarians offer state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to pets in the Nashville area. One of the tools we use is ultrasound, which creates images of the inner workings of the body so we can detect, diagnose, and prevent illness in your pet.
Ultrasound uses sound waves to offer a non-invasive, painless, and radiation-free method of imaging your pet’s internal organs. An echocardiogram, or ultrasound of the heart, provides precise information about heart valves, blood flow, chamber size, and contractions. Ultrasounds usually require some sedation because the patient must remain completely still.
Can you imagine what would happen to your teeth if you never brushed them? It’s no different for cats and dogs—although many pet owners don’t pay very much attention to their pet’s dental health.
Bad breath and dirty teeth are unappealing, but many pet owners aren’t aware that these may be indicators of gum disease. Eventually, all those bacteria can spread to the kidney, heart, and liver, causing serious illness and even shortening your pet’s life. That’s not to mention tooth loss, trouble eating, and the pain that rotting teeth and infected gums can cause your pet.
Dental cleanings for pets can vary in price depending on the patient and what is needed. As with spay or neuters, we require all patients be up to date on vaccines at the time of the dental procedure.
Pricing starts at:
- Dental Cleaning $260
- Dental xRay full mouth $260
- Tier 1 extractions $155
- Tier 2 extractions $260
- Tier 3 extractions $365
- Tier 4 extractions $465
When you bring your pet in for a dental exam, our veterinarians can provide you with an adequate estimate for teeth cleaning and other pet dental services if necessary.

One way we give your pets the best veterinary diagnostic care is with digital radiology. Radiographs, or X-rays, use electromagnetic radiation directed towards the body to highlight objects within. They can detect abnormalities including skeletal fractures, soft tissue damage, foreign bodies, and dental disease without surgery.
Digital radiology is quick. In fact, we can often see the images seconds after we take it. This also saves time because we don’t have to repeat images if they are too dark or too light—we can simply change the contrast!

Animal House Veterinary Clinic is pleased to have a laboratory in our hospital. Having a lab on-site gives us the ability to perform many diagnostic tests quickly and efficiently, including:
- Complete Blood Counts (CBC)
- Heartworm testing
- Parasite screening
- Leukemia tests
Running tests right in our hospital means that when your pet is not feeling well, you get results much more quickly than you would if we had to send these tests to an outside lab. That means a faster diagnosis so treatment can begin sooner, too. We pride ourselves on helping pets as fast as possible!

Vaccinations are a critical part of your pet’s overall health care, and one—rabies—is required for dogs and cats by law in most states, including Tennessee.
In addition to preventing many life-threatening illnesses, vaccinations can prevent other diseases prevalent in wildlife and those that can be passed to humans. It's important to administer vaccinations when pets are puppies and kittens because their young immune systems are still developing and need protection to stay healthy.
While any medical treatment involves some degree of risk, in the case of vaccinations, the benefits far outweigh any potential side effects. Adverse reactions are rare and usually mild and short-term when they do occur.
Our veterinarians can advise you which vaccinations are required or recommended for your pet based on age, health, and lifestyle. The links below outline which vaccinations we generally recommend for pets, but it can vary dependent upon your animal companion’s age, health, and lifestyle.
Saying goodbye to your animal companion can be extremely difficult. We don’t want you to be alone at the end stages of a pet’s life, and we’re dedicated to doing everything we can to make it easier on you and your pet. Most of all, we promise to treat each case with compassion and understanding.
Making the decision itself and determining when the time is right can be emotionally draining. There are many things to consider when making the choice to euthanize a pet, and it is a deeply personal issue. Our medical team can help you navigate this challenging time and will be right by you and your pet’s side to aid in any way we can.
We offer full hospice and euthanasia services at our Nashville veterinary clinic. If you have special requests, please let us know and we will be sure to accommodate them. We know that dealing with the end of a pet’s life is never easy, but we’ll do all we can to get you through as peacefully as possible.
